Finally calling this one done! This was a really fun prop to create, from a concept made by Tony Zenitium. Modeled full in Blender, Textured fully with Substance Painter, and Rendered with Marmoset Toolbag 4! Some slight post effects added with Photoshop. Thanks for checking it out! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/d00mkA
I am making a small environment in Toolbag 2 and I am having an issue with the local reflections. At certain angles, reflected light sources appear as a dispersed kind of noise. It seems that the brighter the source, the worse the result. Here is an example (the screenshot is scaled down, it looks much worse in full res)…

Didn't really know where to post, so I decided to play it safe and post in the general section, hope you don't mind. I'm a student, and we sometimes use Marmoset toolbag 2 at my school for rendering our models. I'd like to keep working on some of my models from home after school. Problem is that Marmoset doesn't offer any…
We've got a short tutorial that covers lighting and presentation here: https://marmoset.co/posts/toolbag-3-lighting-presentation/ And a number of other user breakdown articles that cover character art materials, lighting and presentation: https://marmoset.co/category/toolbag-tutorials/character/
Thanks for posting the article! Unfortunately, what I wanted to do requires being able to stay inside Toolbag as well as the shader system. I am able to generate a depth pass, but have no way to store/access it within another shader inside Toolbag itself.
Hi all. Looong time since I posted on polycount! Here' s a real-time study I did to learn a bit more about character art as I'm pretty tired of environment art in my spare time. Sculpted in zbrush and rendered in toolbag 3. Texturing was done in Photoshop and Mari. Couple more pics on my artstation:…
I don't have problems to deal with a new setup. But if is done like just I want in substance painter is a bit annoying having to touch parameters on any "material" because is not importing as a material, is creating it from a couple o maps exported peviously in painter. I'm working with Substance painter 1.7.3 and Marmoset…
I have a model in toolbag and I can zoom all the way in but in viewer i get a black screen. You can find the viewer at the bottom of this post; https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aRabJR Thanks
With the latest versions of Toolbag 3 i noticed that there are now 4 different types of tone mapping: Linear, Hejl, Reinhard and ACES. Can someone explain me the difference between these 4 ? I tried searching on Google but i didn't find much. I know that Unreal switched to ACES because is the standard in the film and…
