For a gun for a first person shooter, should I model the inside of the chamber? If I don't, then you can see through the geometry if your look inside the gun. Is this combated by adding geometry inside the chamber? Or is there a different way to do this. What's the general method of doing this? Thanks.
[ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc3OuXQHe9s&feature=related[/ame] A while back at a gnomon opening I remember seeing something like that type of fur on the model in zbrush, i was wondering if it was possible to create it from zbrush or if it was implemented in another program. And also i was wondering how long it…
here's a fan art sculpt I did while I had some down time at work. I was inspired by this creeper. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the artist that made it and for that I humbly ask to be forgiven because I love it and I should be able to give him/her proper credit. I wanted my piece to feel like it fit in…
While I had some experience on using FWN. I haven't seen a good guide that explain generally what sort of checks you should perform on the models, before you bevel and apply FWN (usually through a script). Can people with experience summarise a few rules of thumb? Or is it always a manual tuning process? Aside: I am also…
Hi, I’m a student. My goal here is to learn what I can, collect feedback on anything from anatomy to concept. I realize it might be too early in the sculpt to really give any feedback but I’ll add progress quickly. The first post might be a little extensive so please forgive me. I made a few quick grab brush pull concepts…
I'm looking to click a button and run a bunch of lines of code and at the end update my variable so when I click the button the second time it runs some different lines of code. I tried this, but it's complaining about redeclaring the variable. What's the cleanest way to do a simple toggle where the state changes each time…
Hello there I'm trying to make a horse model for game engine use, and I really want there to be a texture of the body fur. Given how short and sleek horse coats are, my lecturer suggested using Xgen to create fur and bake it into a normal or displacement map. I don't have much experience with xgen, so I've hit a block now…
I have been meaning to post this a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance. When I started on this I didn't know that so many others have modeled it as well. I will be making things other than guns after this, so please don't think i'm going to model only guns. I have been following it as close to the real thing as I can,…
LightBox Interactive is currently hiring for the following position: Technical Artist / Character Rigger: Are you a wizard of Mayas dark arts? Can you make Maya do the things that others always wanted and never thought were possible? Can you create a rig that you challenge any animator to break? Harness your dark powers…
Hey Polycounters, I decided to make a quick thread over the most recent weapon that I've made. This is actually a resurrected old model from a few years ago, but I've completely re-modeled, re-textured, re-rendered everything from the ground up to make use of next-gen techniques, programs and workflows. The weapon is an…
