Hello all, I was wondering what the best free software and file format to use for editing 3D scans for export to a 3d Printer. I have a Miraco Revopoint Scanner and I have Autodesk Fusion, Meshmixer, and Blender. But I would like to focus my learning curve on one software because learning all of them at the same time is…
The orthos actually took quite a bit of time, matching all the details @ front & side views. I should have just done blockouts in Maya and sketched over them. I believe they took about 16 hours. If I did a blockout in Maya I probably could have cut down the hours by aboot 1/3.
Looking for an Artist Partner for a Survival RPG (3D/UI/Sound) – Revenue Sharing I am looking for an artist partner for my open-world survival RPG project. I have been developing this game alone for a long time, but to take it to the next level, I need someone who can completely take over the artistic side. This includes…
this animation that i thought would be difficult wasn't so bad. only took about an hour to add the reload. It's a tiny bit too fast I think, but I decompose the animation in unreal into pieces and just that reload bit can have time adjusted individually. The length of time it should last for is actually really important…
Have you googled, or looked on youtube? There are a bunch of very respectable ones, and usually the proof will be in how good their final material looks, etc, which makes sorting through the chaff not too difficult. Do you have a particular style of wood you're looking to replicate? You also got some good feedback in a…
@Fabi_G thanks for the feedback! The lighting is all baked with lightmass. I've seen that fairly exaggerated bounce lighting is the key to stylized lighting, but in my project I had to tone it down a little because the bounced lighting would be very aggressive in some parts of the map. Regarding your comments about blurry…
Hi everybody, I am writing to ask if anybody can direct me to good sources of information (articles, videos, pdfs..) regarding using models with chamfer and custom/weighted normals to make environments. I understand how to make the models with the desired shading but I would like to know more about texturing methods to…
for me the value is in improving on the algorithms for tasks like denoising, height map/normal map generation, light removal, edgedetection, tiling etc. These are things that can't be done perfectly with generalised standard algorithms as they require intuition about the content of the image. ML models can provide that…
This was posted during a long holiday for members in the USA, so you may not see responses for a while. You could share a matcap by sticking it in a ZIP file. It might also help to share the exact version number of the ZBrush you're using, along with some info about your setup... OS, CPU, RAM, GPU.
Hi, no the object has no materials assigned and from the material editor, which opens by pressing M there is no node. In my opinion it is impossible that there are no materials assigned to the file but I do not know how to check this. I have searched several times both on the internet and on youtube but no one talks about…
