3D Scanner- What Editing Software should I focus on using?

Hello all,

I was wondering what the best free software and file format to use for editing 3D scans for export to a 3d Printer.

I have a Miraco Revopoint Scanner and I have Autodesk Fusion, Meshmixer, and Blender.  But I would like to focus my learning curve on one software because learning all of them at the same time is "fun."

I am basically looking for a software to learn where I can fix holes and errors from the scan, add or remove details such as make the face or hair look/print better.  Then export it to Bambu Labs.

Here is a good example of what I am talking about fixing, there are holes in her right arm, the hair is weirdly defined and needs to be made thicker for printing, and the face needs some extra definition.

I basically just scanned and printed it though.

Any suggestions on what software I should focus on learning?  Is STEP files the best way to save or should I save it as something else then export as a STEP file?

Thanks!

You need to learn the basics of Blender polygonal editing/modeling, then move on to learning its sculpting and remeshing tools, which are what you need for the fixes you mention.

Of course there are other software allowing you to process scan data, but since you specifically mention editing details then you indeed need a proper sculpting software. Blender is an option, and there is also Zbrush and 3DCoat. And Nomad Sculpt on mobile.

The data will be polygonal throughout the pipeline, relying on STL or OBJ.
