So I've been misled with my tri-count, which was my own fault. I had forgotten that symmetry doesn't count towards the tri-count until it is collapsed down. So the tri-count is actually 101k tris, which is a little disappointing but only being 1000 tris over isn't the end of the world. I'll try and make up the difference…
