Still seems too low to be useful though. For an 8k texture, 512 samples seems to be just enough to hide most noise. And having to bake a higher res texture on GPU only to downscale to reduce the noise seems to be slower. I did some simple tests - maybe my GPU bake settings could be better but my results were these. GPU…
I think you maybe right, i may just add in some more small basic wires if i can't get this to look right. Sounds like a great idea actually. Any idea on the smoothing group question? I remember hearing someone say something about normal maps not working well in 3D a long time ago and i loaded up a game on my 3D setup and…
This has potential to be pretty nice. Your normals seam fine to me, but you need to work on the diffuse and spec. Right now it's all very monotone and flat looking. It needs more contrast, more colour variation and grime it up a bit. Your spec needs to have some brighter patches in order to help sell the metal materials. I…
Welcome to the Concept Thread for the next Monthly Environment / Prop Challenge! Great effort all around folks; there were some really polished pieces with the last Challenge! I'm a little behind in getting Challenge 46 set up - as such I'd like to get as many votes as we can in the next two days and have our selections…
One dream of mine was to be able to play as one of my characters ive made up for Roleplay, or comics.. |||UPDATE||| Retopology video: [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icqPZnD_3lA[/ame] This video is a little different, as it's not a "crash course" so much as a workflow demo with a lot of pointers. I hope you enjoy. |||UPDATE||| Alright so this is pretty much an all in one look at Blender, mainly covering UI/modeling…
@Arturow looking good! I think the remote's hang time is a frame or two too long at the peak of the arc. I'd take those frames and pad the end a little more. I don't know if it's because I'm old and slow or what, but I find it best when there's at least 15 frames of padding at the end to read that final pose. @Sonny, very…
To be honest, I can tolerate quite a few of these grievances as long as the underlying game has a good spark of imagination. My favourite games aren't the ones that are perfectly executed, but the ones that draw me in. One thing that does start to get at me is that a ridiculous amount of games are about violence. Sure,…
Sorry for the hiatus, I lost all my subdivisions on this sculpt somehow, Now normally I would of done what I have done in the past and gone "this is to hard" and quit. However, after reading this post from Hazardous http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1794475&postcount=46 I realized how much it really did apply…
Good stuff, especialy liking the pools of blood (yeeesss, blooooood. Mwahaha *rubs hands together manically), and crazy wall jumping monster thing. A few things stood out as possibly needing change (be prepared, i'm not pulling any punches): First off was the glass. I'm very curious to know why certan types of glass…
