Hi everyone. I'm quite newbie with 3d modeling and I started character modeling few days ago. I found quite many tutorials but most of the new ones using Zbrush right from the start and then you Max or Maya for retopologize and in the older ones, they use Max or Maya for basic character structure and then they use Zbrush…
I can't seem to find info on this subject anywhere. All I want to do is find the model of the Flamethrower for the Pyro in TF2 in the source sdk folder or tf2 folder or wherever it resides and get it into Max. I found the Pyro model just fine with bones intact that I can pose however I want. The file doesn't include any…
hello, well a friend of mine is learning maya in artschool... so he showed me a little what he learned so far... and as he was working on kind of a highpoly model he used under Subdiv Surfaces/ Partial Crease Edge/Vertex and Full Crease Edge/Vertex... it is really nice how much control these two tools give you for getting…

I shall do that! Thank you As for the info: The game's Skyrim Special Edition (which uses the Creation Engine), I'm using 3ds Max 2012 with the niftools plugin (so I export/import the file in kf and convert it to/from hkx through hkxcmd) If I may ask, how do I properly delete the IK?
Lots of times when I overwrite a texture from Photoshop or 3D Coat it will not update in 3DS Max 2020. Max basically still has the old version in memory. The Reload button in the material editor will not help at all. Assigning the texture again will also not work. In the "select bitmap image file" dialog the thumbnail…
Hey guys, Well, I've been messing around in 3Ds Max for the last few days, but at the moment I'm still at a fairly big loss as to how to make anything (apart from really simple shapes). Because I'm only a high school student (14 years old) there's no easy way for me to get a university/polytechnic course in it (but I am…
DirectX view is annoying like that. Use a custom shader instead, it doesn't cause the undo to slow down. Google JIStyle's skin shader or Ben Cloward's HLSL normal map shader and use one of those instead of using the standard preview. Not sure what you mean by the wireframe - i never use pure wireframe view, nearly always…
Hum, just found out something interesting about the animation preview in max (animation>make preview), just thought I'd give a heads up. If you are making one don't tab out of max while it renders, maybe for example, to check out polycount. Otherwise you will end up with a little glitchy avi of your web browsing.. weird.
