UDK - Blown out lighting when I add an extra light.

Moving UV vertices in Maya, moves all connected vertecies. Help?!
I don't think I've ever had a bigger headache on such a fundamental problem with a 3D program. I haven't had this issue in any other program before, 3DS Max, Blender, XSI, etc. How do I "split" the vertices/faces from eachother and form a separate shell... or something? WTF is going on with people? I heard late last night that someone in Alabama went on a shooting spree, then I hear this morning that Germany had a crazy shooter also. Motion capture real time
Somebody knows which kind of affordable system is able to do mocap, to control a biped in real time? I've tried one kinect but generally linking the nodes to the bones is hell and movement is not so fluid.
