Hello everyone, my name is Jonathan and I love game environment art. I'm studying a lot and would like to one day be able to work in a great title for a large company, so I'm trying to build a good portfolio and always keep an eye on jobs in the area of games. I recently saw a vacancy for environment artist at Crytek and job description they had a preference, among other things, by someone who knew design basics. It was not a requirement but a plus.
It was written this way:
-Clear understanding of design basics (silhouette, lighting, composition, perspective, color, etc.) and how Affects game play environment.
A complete description of the vacancy are here:

I think it is the responsibility of the designer level but I think that if it gives me an advantage, why not learn a little more about it? So I come here to ask that can steer me to gain knowledge on these subjects. Where can I learn more about design basics (silhouette, lighting, composition, perspective, color, etc.)? Please, anyone who can show me a link, book or video, I'll be very grateful.
Thanks.

FZD School of Design. He has posted up over a 100 videos talking about this very subject, all pertaining to the Game and Entertainment Industry.
Remember, learn the fundamentals... the science behind why design works.
Then, practice, practice practice.
