I'd also recommend 3d Quakers max rigging dvd. http://3dquakers1.com/webroot5/review.php?id=9 And for maxscript, the help docs that come with 3ds max are good, but CGTalk has a lot of "real-world" examples that can help tremendously. http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=98
I finished the study today : ^). I think I spent about 3ish hours on it today, so in total took 9? hours. I don't think it's terrible for my first time really rendering at least, but I still see a lot of things I don't really like about it. Progress snap
I think currently the best one is 12core amd ryzen 9 3900x. I mean before amount of cores starts to slow it down for mostly single core ZB sculpting and in general a good balance in-beenween single core and milticore speed. You still need to render something and bake textures usually
I personally think she is too tall, nearly 9 head for a woman is very very tall. I also think the head is way too small, by fixing that you will be also helping the too tall issue quite a lot. It was said before but I believe the arms are a little short Good job otherwise :) !!
I decided to release my Ultimate Rock Smart Material Pack today. It includes 9 smart materials for texturing various kinds of rocks in Substance Painter. I've created 8 scenes in UE4 over the course of two days using these smart materials. Please check it out: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/0XYRme

Ive been using maya for about 9 months now and I still pretty much agree with everything you are saying, the uv tools are total crap. I have found ways to work around them and get the results I want pretty fast but its not a workflow that feels right or makes sense.
Jpeg artifacts quite strong with those images. Not a fan of including the HDR map in the background. I think the wear could be a little more evenly distributed, and more dirt, grease, and dust in the recesses of the weapon. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/47/4th_Infantry_Division.jpg…
Yes. It's all just reflection absorption or deflection of photons. " Sometimes it's hard to tell how much color is being contributed by reflection and how much is GI when looking at objects in real life." Wut. It's all reflection brah. If you guys wanna hurt your heads. http://www.webexhibits.org/causesofcolor/9.html
Think it needs more rivets Nah but seriously I think it could use some time indicators, typically clocktowers use roman numerals but I think any marker would work at hour 12/3/6/9. At the moment you have a lot of small scale repetition of details. Especially in the interior.
