256*256 is enormous. You'll be severely limiting what you can have in your environment and elsewhere if you go using textures that large. 128*128 is generally workable for characters and vehicles and so-forth, though you're better to opt for lower than that if you can get away with it. Ha okay too bad I missed that comp, it was boud to be fun. You know what the icing on the cake would be Warby? Baking down the textures to something ps2-friendly ie not simply scaling them down but also using a lot of UV sharing, stretchy UVs aso. Im sure it's possible and would make the whole package even more impressive!…
Hooray just finished a testbake for the magazine. I am pretty happy with it. It is currently at around 1200 verts (must be more cause max doesnt calculate splits). I think it could be optimized more:
Not in Germany. We pay around 1200€ for nothing except a localised UI. I like Crazyump but its interface is horrible and looks like being made from an amateur. maybe im to picky about this.
brightness and contrast ratios are just inflated numbers that don't mean much for the actual quality of the display. I'd look at Dell's U2312HM or U2212HM. Also 1920 x 1200 would suck at 27in for being a computer monitor.
