I write the deadline in my calender, with subgoals inbetween. As in "Finish highpoly" on a sunday, and then the next sunday could be "UV'ed low poly" etc." For some reason I still have trouble seeing my own projects till the end. Always get moivated doing something else, and leave the project in early wip :O
