Yeah, smoothing groups is Maxs way of handing soft/hard edges, thats what I mean. Don't make the asset all hard. Just use hard/soft edges as you will with the final model...changing those edges after baking messes stuff up. Your bake shows the nasty crease. It looks to me like you had baked there with the low poly having…
I'm looking to attempt my hand at creating a texture atlas/sheet for modular purposes with hard surfaces in mind. The flat panels and trim with no corners or edges to worry about are the easy part to figure out but what would I do or use as of a node system set up for edges and corners? Hard surfaces are all about those…
in fact if you were to redesign the handle to split in two rather than trigger / trigger guard (basically like a hand help stapler) then as you punched and your hand impacted it would automatically fire could be a cool variant
Hi everyone, I’m a Junior 3D Artist currently looking for opportunities in game development. I work through the full asset creation process: – Modeling (Blender) – High-poly sculpting (ZBrush) – Clean topology and optimized low-poly meshes – UV mapping and baking – PBR texturing (Substance Painter) – Basic Unreal Engine…
Update: I managed to find some solutions but one still remains. When trying to bake the IK handles down, they screw up and break. No idea why. Both hands hands are constrained to a prop, they should bake out fine.
If you want a vertical mouse I have a left-hand one I could sell (I switched to right-hand mouse handling last year hence I don't use it anymore). Just let me know.
Greetings, Our team is currently looking to expand. Cyclo Logic Studios is a volunteer-based group, producing a freeware game. We are currently developing an online 3d action product and eventually add RPG elements. To summarize in a few words our first demo releases will feature a multiplayer PvP area, however it will be…
Hey all, I wrote a blog about this tool (https://www.artstation.com/thomasfraser/blog) for Maya. I've told a bunch of people about how it can speed up their modeling but it's falling upon deaf ears. Use Constraints is extremely handy when you want to choose edges, verts, or faces which have specific properties. Selecting…
My problem is, that i e.g. added 50 keys to the hand and just 2 to the upper arm. Now i select the upper arm to ajust the 2 keys but that's pretty hard because i also see the 50 keys i set to the hand.
Hi all — I’m developing a custom 3D framework inspired by sixth-generation console visuals (think PSP / early PS2). I’m looking to commission two clean, animation-ready humanoid base meshes — one male and one female — that I can use as the foundation for clothing and character variants. Project Overview The meshes will…
