If you set up the bone/bones right, not really. You just replace the .mdl in the items_game.txt file for a weapon/hat you want to replace and then your model will be in game in place of that hat's model.
You can only copy & paste keyframes in blender from one action to another if there is already blank keyframes to replace with. The copy e paste feature is more like a replace one. Pasting in a timeline without keyframes yet wont work. ;/
UVs are essentially colour information. A flow map replaces the UVs - distorting the image. You paint on gradients that indicate the direction you want the map to sit. I have done this using vertex colour. Where the vertex colour replaced the UVs.
Thanks guys, this is really useful info. So then I guess its just a matter of how complicated the model is and how its been built, as to whether you replace the whole model in an LOD or you replace/remove individual parts. Is this correct?
Update: So i quickly tried to unwarp my lightmaps with automatic padding between the faces, and got some bad UV's. Can i import and replace ONLY the UV's in UE4 without having to replace every piece that has these artifacts?
so i would like to create a scene using this image... i was wondering if any of you could help me out because i am having some trouble with it. I'm trying to replicate the scene using 3d studio max, if any of you have watched tim jones gnomon workshop video, Environment Creation for Production, this is basically what i am…
Hey all, I've been working on this scene for a couple of weeks now, off and on. I'm getting to the point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Except I think that light is ugly as hell. I hate my lighting. lol. Here is a screengrab from my latest lighting setup in UDK: and this is what I did in photoshop to…
Hello Everyone, i have been studying Maya for about 1-2 years now with alot of breaks inbetween and eventually dropping it but as of end of 2016 picked it up again and being serious about it now, i tried making this Fitbike bicycle with a few reference images of the bike itself, i would like alot of critique on this as i…
As you can see from the picture below I exported some assets from a art study that was done to replicate Alien Isolation art process; using geometry for many of the details, and without the need for so many normal maps. My question here is, which process would be better to do for the majority? Use vertex normals and more…
Hi, well you didn't say who you are trying to replicate so i would find it hard to critic atm, however i stumbled upon some likeness guides recently i wanted to share and i can now post them to people like you. I find these would be helpful to get a good understanding about it all and ways to tackle it for anyone…
