So basically to convert this to metalness you would first paint your metalness mask (masking only the metal parts and putting the dirt layers in there as well to blend). Some grey values are ok fro transitioning especially fro dirt layers. After that you would put the spec into the albedo for the masked metal areas. Last…
For the texture going only on top side, not top and bottom the fix is - Brush-> Auto Masking -> and then activate Backface Mask. It seems like the texture kinda has opacity....but is kinda a good solution for now! For the strange opacity, open the Curve below the Backface Mask and turn the left side all the way up! That…
In legacy dDo, you could create a height map from the detail masks created, which would automatically bump the normal. This was great for creating chips in paint etc. In the suite, dDo will create a mask of the normal of the material, but as far as I can see there is no option to create a normal map from the mask. Am I…
I seem to be having same issue but have not tested enough to be sure it's not due to work files somehow corrupted by previous version. Should the fix work even on files created in 2.1.5? I also noticed that "copy mask to all maps" command copies the mask to one of the other maps (next in line) but not others. This should…
On a side note, while i have your attention. Sometimes i make manual edits to the masks of some of my materials in ddo eg. painting out some areas of a wear mask. At some point after doing this though i may have to reimport some maps and this seems to reset the manual edits i had done to material masks...should this happen?
Looking pretty good. It looks like your roughness values on your wooden floor are being masked per plank. Normally the roughness mask wouldn't be isolated for each individual plank but would extend across the entire floor itself. I say this because it looks like you have different roughness masks being applied to planks…
Sure I do mask the areas I'm not working on... Its just that even with masking it's still slow in response. And masking prevents from having a overall view on the model sometimes. Anyways! Starting on the techy bits. The mechanical shoulder and spine on the middle pic are a projected template I shape skinfolds around. The…

Thank you ! yeah i was being pretty dumb, what i wanted to do is have the pattern in a way so that i could mask off random squares, just like random masking in a sampler, so what i did i use the image with the pattern already made in a sampler and another sampler as a mask and blended them together, ended up working pretty…
