What approach do you recommend for modeling this while including all the vents? I'm currently using booleans, but I'm curious about how you would avoid having too many edges around the model just for the vents. Are there any helpful tutorials out there?
Your post has been here for a bit and it hasn't got any response. There are things that can assist you. The wiki has everything you need, and a whole lot more: wiki. I put some stuff below that might help. 1/ Anatomy: That is really the first thing with figures. A good practice is to start your model naked so you can…
We have a bunch on the wiki about trim sheets. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/MultiTexture#Trim_Sheets As an entry point I'd recommend Shubham Kumar's tutorial Trim Sheet|Detailed Breakdown from the page http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Modular_environments

Oh right you're wanting tutorials! Now I understand. Sorry, theres zero chance of that, I gave up on the tutorial game a long time ago and to do one on our tech I would have to grind through lots of red tape which I'm not willing to do. I figured I would use the small things I've learned and apply them, as well as mess around and teach myself through tinkering with the program. I'm a self-taught artist, and I…
Thank you for the answer Maximumsproductions even if you were busy with school! I have edited my original post, as you've suggest, to put a little more effect on looking for a coach. Tablet The interesting thing about the cintiq is to not worry about the eye on screen not on paper compare to the intuos, maybe I'm just not…
I'm from the UK; Leeds infact, and went to Leeds Met Uni. I was lucky enough to have my lecturers with a good background in art and had spent several years at a few big name studios. What helped is that they loved what they did and what they had achieved and the effect was quite contagious on the students. I went to a…
