So currently I am trying to retopo a really complex high poly object(Tons of gaps and little nooks) and get a decent looking Low Poly. Sadly the Freeform tools in 3DS Max are making me rip my hair out. Whenever I use "step build" or "surface" to fill in areas with open vertices, the damn tools pick out vertexes that are…
Hi all! I figure this discussion has probably been had before, but I'm curious as to everyone's opinion about the best 3d renderer for game asset portfolio type stuff. I've experimented with Iray in Substance Painter, the UE4 Gallery by Aaron Kaminer, and used Sketchfab's online tools. I don't like that I can't add my own…
Hello! This years Zelda Breath of the Wild made me realize how much I love well executed stylized looks in videogames! Until now I mainly worked on realistic to hyper realistic environments but I thought Ill try something new and go for a BotW inspired look. Im still early in the process of creating this scene. I decided…
Well Dreamer i think that as long as people are mature and thus far so far have been the thread i not a problem. The point of a discussion like this is to say what everyone is thinking and wondering is it just me , did i miss something? I feel better that i hadn't missed anything and more so the link provided. If you don't…
I think anyone who has browsed their fair share of forums know that moderation is inevitable. You can't solve religion, or the death penalty by just pushing your opinion in a thread till it hits a few hundred pages. Those types of threads get locked because they spawn more ill will than hope 99.99999999% of the time. There…

The purpose of the blockout is to get the scale and proportions correct before you spend time detailing them and making them look pretty. Unless you're making the scene a shooter…
hmmm...dunno. A kid takes down 3 warrior class hunter types... I dislike over the top shit made to please kids who need something to relate to in movies that us adult grew up with. I friggin love the original Conan, but I think the 70/80's were the golden age for sword and sorcery movies and we'll never see the like…
HEllo people of Polycount! I didn't know where to exactly post this thread, so Im just gon put it here. Hope it fits. Some of you might recognize me from constant spamming on 2D forums :D I first joined Polycount in 2016 October, about 5 months after I got into my military service (now sled to civil service agent) in…
Hi all! The goal of this thread is to do an interactive case of the graphics of Metal Gear Solid 1 with the Polycount community. This is my favorite game of all time, and I can still remember just how absorbed I was with everything about this when I was growing up. Now I would like to study and appreciate it from a more…
