Nice skin  I like the idea. And great work so far, nice high poly and lowpoly. I really like what I see so far ^^ I'll look forward for more of this character  Keep going buddy!
Real time Vehicles for a PC game. We did lowpoly Modeling, UV unwrapping, Baking and creating all maps (Normal map, AO map, Albedo, Metalness, Roughness, and … ). To see more, please take a look at our website: www.cube-master.com
Go for it. the efficiency of the highpoly model doesn't matter as long as your computer and you can handle it and you are fine with it. I was talking about using displacement on a lowpoly asset. Why couldn't you just model those straight lines out by the way?
Dang87, how did you bake and render these images? The textured lowpoly looks very badly smoothed. There could be a number of reasons for this, so if you tell us more about how you made this we might be able to help you fix this.
really excellent work. seems to me that your work is well executed, even without many lowpoly examples (I know you have many under NDA) it is clear you know what your doing. Keep it up my friend.
Thanks for all your advice :) I'm gonna change the mouth on the low poly this afternoon. I do the Lowpoly mesh yesterday : And here is the first result un udk ( Ao +NM ) 2048*2048 for the moment :) ( gonna reduce after to 1024*1024)
Here's my version of what i would call finished as of the moment. Sculpting wise. The mesh is built of a low poly model I had already made, with in Maya, then converted over to Zburush. I hope this will help generate the lowpoly textures faster.
A little bit late but done ! HighPoly LowPoly The next piece is going to be fun yes haha. I think commador you should make a little bit smaller the edge at the top of the square, it seems to be a little bit more "round" (the center piece)
The nm distortion is likely because of the shape of your cage. For example... http://wiki.polycount.net/Normal_Map#SWL The AO problem looks like the ray distance is too low, or the lowpoly is in the way. I don't know Xnormal well enough to tell which though.
Hey man, i am actuallt doing a lowpoly scene (a dungeon myself) and are trying to understand how to do the lightmap ,this is a plugin that lets you use in 30 days, it will lightmap an entire level in minutes. have a look at it. http://www.texturebaking.com/training-material/
