This could depend on the type of surface, concrete doesn't have a lot of normal definition for example, so sculpting it might not be worth it. I've never used XNormal but apparrently you should have a +Y and -Y option somewhere. Swap that. Don't flip the texture itself. If you can't find the option in XNormal, invert the green channel of the normal map so dark is light, light is dark and grey is grey. -

zapplink with normals?
Does anyone know of a way to make zapplink send out a view with a normal map applied to the mesh?
