It's a magical model. It's invisible to anyone who was not fit for the gaming industry, or who is unpardonably stupid. I'd say lovely start, FruitBomb! Just pay attention at her cape, the way you are doing it's too simetrical and unrealistic. Exagerate a bit more on that left folders, and you´re on the right track! :P
I made a gun based off Zoe Washburne's maresleg from Firefly. I learned all sorts of sub-d magic with this project. Yeah. I'm going to pop it in zbrush this weekend to add some damage, then get started on the low poly & unwrap and hopefully start texturing soon. Woo! :)
When the reference photo was loading it took up the whole screen, so I didn't see the "this is a photo" note. So initially I was like "WHAT DEMON MAGIC IS THIS!?" and then I was like that pitchspork on the wall is SOo fake, and those chairs are too smooth. Nice try OP! Can't fool me..
OH YES! This saved the day! Thank you all! The script worked magic! Sadly the many smoothing groups stands true. Since I bake with Marmo so all seams will be hard edges anyway. Is there any chance of a method like: "Make all UV islands different Smoothing Groups? "
To be honest I believe promo pics should be as close to the ingame version as possible, since that's what the buyer gets. I think the magic lies in getting the low poly baked to look close to perfect. That being said, I agree with the others that you should try to make your models bolder.
Thanks everyone. I definitely had fun working on this project! @AGoodFella the axe is "magic" so after throwing it at an orc, he is reforming the axe out of ice. the hand is vibrating, the intensity of the vibration escalates as the axe gets closer to fully forming. the fx (not shown) help sell what's going on.
Dimfist Oh,thank you for such a good idea and feedback. He also will have more details like a cloth, bags, may be some necklaces and bracelets with bones\stone\mushrooms and e.t.c. And I think he need get some magic staff. Torch Ok I'll try something like this
bog of eternal stench maybe? something from one of those labyrinth/dark chrystal movies, or in that sort of drawn, magical aesthetic. I think it's not neccecarily the environment that makes the difference though its how you tackle it. maybe you could put a new spin on a tired genre like ww2
I loved 8, the Magic system was fun, and it made getting those high levels spells a biotch...My thought on the story...Well I played and loved 7, and it made a whole lot of no sense...and 8 was just as fun!! Even though the story was crazy, I played it and beat it a couple of times...
Hi guys, Is there a good technique to retopo mechanical sculpts? I can retopo dinosaurs and kittens all day long but the rectangular prism eludes me. I will just do it in max like normal person for now but I am curious if you can take quick and dirty zbrush mech stuff into 3d coat and turn out some magic. :)
