I'm curious what an auto-retopo would do with this kind of shape. Did a quick test with "RealityScan - Cloth" (https://skfb.ly/oMvPD) by orbis, using the Retopology modifier in 3ds Max 2025.
When you use the inset function in 3ds max it seems the vertices kind of all do what they want going in unsavory directions. Is there a setting to orient the vertices to move toward a central point? I'm trying to create a uniform set of concentric circles to create what looks like the rubber rings on a subwoofer. I know…
Wow,that many responses. Thanks guys! I thought I'm a pretty good modeler but.... :/ seems one can learn his whole life :) I've tried the slice method, kind of,because I forgot about the modifier and tried to do it with some circles and then delete from the intersection the part that wasn't needed but it ended up messy…
Hey all! I’m putting together ideas for a short animated project about Louis Riel, focusing on his ride through the battlefield at Batoche. It’s meant to be a stylized, intense piece that highlights his bravery and faith (kind of like a historical drama, but with a lot of atmospheric lighting and contrast—thinking…

Sexy renders. Good job. My main issue with this would be her eyes. They don't convince me. Are those suppose to be human eyes or the her right eye some cyborg eye or something? What's that crazy reflection? Seems like some kind of orange/yellow ring flash/light like a photographer would use. Why isn't a similar reflection…
Hi @sacboi, thanks for the tips! You're right, I'm almost done here, but since I kind of winged the lowpoly and UV unwrapping process, especially the former tut will come handy. Now the low poly model is all set up in Substance and all the details are baked down, I'll start next texturing the vehicle. I'm taking as a…
I vote for displacement normal maps. basically it displaces your normal map texture so its no longer on the texture page. look's great but you can't see the effect unless you are wearing 2 pairs of 3d glasses I also want to see pineapple chunk maps - bit like cube maps bit a bit more of a yellow tinge to it and a bit more…
I was making attempts at correcting the scale but I was using Wings 3D back then so it was kind of difficult. I've since moved onto 3DS Max where the tools are much more powerful so I hope to take advantage of that now. As for everyone else, thanks for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to try again with the Taxi soon…
Not sure if this is a known issue but I figure I'd report anyways. using DoF blurs my Glass Additive Mesh/Material. Edit: Also, everything inside of the glass material loses it's local reflection property. It makes sense why it does, but it's kind of a bummer. Might just have to comp the glass onto the glass-less…
