sorry, I wasnt using it as a comparison with THQ but as an example of good Marketing that helped sell it to the unsuspecting public. Although they did the same stuff for darksiders2 (tv, print, interwebs) it did it very badly. The CG trailer showed nothing of the game or story to draw new players or even existing players… -

Needs more color variation imo. search hand painted wood, like this one: Bloodhound put it well. Other things you can do is look at real wood. Searching "Wood planks" will give you a variety of different colors, types, etc. Also, it looks like there is a bit of an outline at the bottom of the second barrel, and all over… -

heya, my main crit would be that maybe you should have tried something a little more adventurous then a barrel that said i probably would have just mirrored the other side as you haven't made anything on the object particularly unique for example dents and scratches. Supporting 3D Coat & Photoshop combo. You can set a path to Photoshop in 3DC in Prefs; then you can press CTRL+P to jump your diffuse layers to Photoshop at any time.
