Re: Help with rotating around pivot in Maya (Solved)
Press the Insert key to toggle the pivot movement tool, you can then move and rotate the pivot. Then press Insert again to switch back to the manipulator handle. You can also hold down 'D' to move the pivot point. -
Maya 2009: combining geo w/o affecting pivot
Whenever combining geo, the pivot is automatically centered to the newly created bounding area of the adjoined geo. I'd like the geo being combined, or attached, to the parent, to adopt the parent's pivot. Thanks lover -

Is it setting your pivot to the world grid 0 0 0? If you move your object to 0 0 0 and export does the pivot come out in the right spot? I've and to do that with quite a few engines over the years. I wrote scripts that move your object, export and then move it back, because it was so annoying. There might be some settings… -
