the term to google is "texture atlasing" although it can refer to more than just 3D assets -it also includes for example 2D game sprite sheets. there is a polycount wiki for this.
so true. maybe the polycount community should team up to make an unofficial duke nukem? could run a 3d challenge to create various duke nukem characters..
Hi Polycounters! I created this 3d diorama inspired my trip to Paris last autumn. It's made with a combination of photogrammetry and traditional sculpting. Breakdown on Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/4G8J4
I'm new to Polycount and I want to start building my 3d portfolio. So what better way than to kick it off with a sketchbook post. All these were created in Scultptris.
Hey folks, First post for me here at Polycount. I am primarily a concept artist building up 3d skill in the Art Institute of LA. Anyway, without further ado:
Google is a great programm, could try that. Also the Polycount WIKI 3d Motive Digital Tutors Also find some Tips on the Vertex (free) - by Papercut.. Cheers
My suggestion is take classes in as many traditional arts as you can, buy a fat book on art history and read it, and practice 3d on your own using polycount and tutorials.
Great news, notman! It would be swell to have a fellow polycounter making us some 3d Maxes, but what the hell. I'm happy as long as you're happy) have fun there
Not sure if you can imbed this in polycount but couldn't figure it out. Heres a marmoset viewer file for the base anatomy. Cant hide anything in 3d. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/eP4WY
