Dude! Those first three sculpts just come off really amateur compared to that last one you posted. I apologize for that assumption, but they just seemed to lack a lot of basic anatomy stuff. That last one you posted is really good! Keep doing more of that. -

Zbrush is for sculpting highpoly (organic, mostly) meshes. 3D max is more appropriate for lowpoly, or hardsurface highpoly. I'd say Max or Maya are more essential for game art than Zbrush is, so yeah get it. I think if you're a student you can use it for free. -
Knight girl (wip)
Hello Polycount people! Here is a fantasy knight-adventurer girl. Whole idea is mine and I'm terrible at concept art, so this is more like a sketch now made in zbrush. I am novice at hi-poly character sculpting so feel free to give me your critics:poly124: -
Tileable, mesh based textures in Mudbox?
Is it possible to make tileable textures like this: http://eat3d.com/free/zbrush_tile in Mudbox? There's plenty of info around on sculpting detail into a plane and tiling it, but I want to do it using meshes; a cobblestone floor in this case. I've done some extensive Googling and can't seem to find anything. -

@lotet Very true! That's gonna be the hard part of the sculpt here. My previous pass had much smaller wear and tear, but it looked very weird so I restarted. I think I'm gonna have to find a balance between big and smaller scratches to convey the size. Thanks! -

@BARDLER- The character is indeed low in poly count, but the challenge was to make him standard from the point of look and details. This is one of my professional project and client wanted him in that way. Its true I have to compromise with the silhouette but the sculpted details came out pretty well for me :) -

Look at "SCULPTING BOOT STRAPS AND FABRIC WRAPS" on this page Gnomon Free tutorials Or if you wanted to poly model it, you could use a NURBS/NURMS curve that wraps around the way you want, and then extrude along it. Maybe breaking it up into smaller sections would be easier as well. -

More stuff on the way. Feel free to comment of whatever I've posted and will be posting, thanks! This, as you can see is 1 wooden plank sculpted and textured - tho still not 100% finished. The image is a printscreen from the Maya viewport using 1 spotlight. I'll finish it in the morning, promise! :) -
