Hi fellow artists  I have been browsing Polycount as a guest a lot lately and I LOVE it! I need your help in something I couldn't find a solution to by just Googling. I am using Substance Designer to generate textures, I used some templates that I had found freely. So far the templates have: Height, Diffuse,…
I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this so sorry in advance if it is not but I started a small film project set in a cyberpunk city. I'm new to C4D and OctaneRender and have been trying to find tutorials for this sort of thing and while what I have achieved looks alright, it looks too stylised and fake and I…
Helo guys! I am planning to make a full game ready lowpoly character. Though there are few things I can't understand. 1-) Do I have to model clothes and hair seperately? Saw a few tuts on YouTube where people were texturing hairs and clothes directly on model. 2-) What should be my hair modeling workflow? 3-) Should I…
Hello, so after being a hobbisist for some time I've began offering my services for compensation, usually put the price low such as $250 for a character model, textures, and rig. But do you think the skills are up to par, or is there any areas that could use improvement? I would like to do this full time. What I am working…
Hey all, I've been searching and searching and I have no idea how to make a simple 80s, 80-column/25-line LCD screen in UE4. I am new to UI/video effect shaders in Unreal and don't know where to start. Here is an example. (though it doesn't have to be EXACTLY like this, just something similar) Start at 2:50 if it doesn't…
I would like to archive foggy/moody/volumetric lights that shine through windows like in this picture above. I have seen a lot of artwork with this type of light and I simply do not know how to set it up in my scene. The picture below is my scene I am trying to make the light very bright and foggy when they shine through…
I'm going to share this little project I started last night! I saw a picture of a Hulk on Pinterest and thought, I want to do something similar. I started sketching with ZBrush using a head base I have, and something was coming out, but it was still a bit strange because I wasn't very interested in the comic book look. I…
Thank you all to everyone who contacted me with interest in this job. I received many replies to this commission and it took me a bit to get through them all. This is an extremely talented community but after much deliberation I have found someone to take the job. My intent was to respond to everyone individually but new…
Hey there. I'm working on a mod for a game engine. Anyways, it supports lightwave objects and an associated TGA file with a uvmap. My question is.. right now my textures are planar and I scaled and rotated to fit each leaf and trunk etc. How would I convert this into a uvmap (TGA) file that is associated with the object?…
Would I use a sculpting program and actually sculpt it into the highpoly model? Or paint using height in Substance Painter then bake it into my normal map? Or do something else entirely? Something similar to the image.
