How To Create Volumetric Lighting Through Window???

I would like to archive foggy/moody/volumetric lights that shine through windows like in this picture above.
I have seen a lot of artwork with this type of light and I simply do not know how to set it up in my scene.

The picture below is my scene

I am trying to make the light very bright and foggy when they shine through the window but I don't know how and where to begin.

Here is what I really want to achieve

Thank you for your time. Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Separate the grid material from the glass material. Make it a mesh basically. And then disable shadow casting on the glass. You will also need to enable "cast volumetric shadows" on the light source.

Volumetric stuff does not handle opacity. So if you want the light to shine through the window, make the grid to be a mesh. And make the invisible parts NOT casting shadow so it will shine in and the bars will cast some volumetric shadows.
