howdy guys hows it going again, trying to improve on my hand painted stylized textures, thought id do a good old sheild, ive read through most of the threads on hand painted stuff on the forum and have picked up a few good tips :) at the moment this is sitting fairly high poly for a sheild at 2900 tri's this is mainly…
Would like some feedback on my latest piece of work. I've used this workflow a few times, creating a high poly and baking out a normal and ambient occlusion and using the ambient occlusion as a guide to hand paint. I do use a specular map as well which I haven't done it yet for this. I know its probably not considered as a…
Hello, I am wondering if it's possible to export vertex paint data from 3ds max to marmoset? I know it can be done using Polypaint with Zbrush, just wondering if it can be done with the vertex paint modifier in 3ds max too Thanks!
So I have been wondering how do you patterns on stencils line up well while painting it around a whole object? You move the stencil or the model and then it can be very hard to line it up again well but if you don't spin the model you can't paint the other side. I use mudbox and i'm kinda new to it.

This is by far the most common problem with beginner work in hand painting. Pick a lighting direction and stick to it. If it will help,…
Im wondering how you would paint something like this and have it look so natural, there seems to be surfaces like this in almost everything ive seen hand painted. Ive tried sampling colors to recreate it but it just doesnt look the same...
So I'm looking around at tablet computers that are available right now so that I'm able to do digital paintings without being tied to my computer. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Asus s101-A1-WT has caught my eye so far, but it's hard to pin down solid information on it from anyone who uses it for anything beyond its generic…
