So I have been wondering how do you patterns on stencils line up well while painting it around a whole object? You move the stencil or the model and then it can be very hard to line it up again well but if you don't spin the model you can't paint the other side. I use mudbox and i'm kinda new to it.

As for photoshop I agree it would normally be easier but what do you do when theres alot of shells all over the UV layout in different places and you need the pattern to line up properly? At least with 3D software like mudbox you know the software is handling it being on the right shell and all that assuming you can line the stencil up. I want something like an army pattern wrapping around my rounded gun.
