Is there a tool in Zbrush/Mudbox/etc. that allows to paint textures based on mesh slope angle? For example, a brush setting that will paint texture only on a surface that has from 0 to 30 degrees slope. I'm making some terrain/mountain assets and it will be very helpful and time saving. Terrain Toolkit for Unity has…
The following image is a model I did recently, and I'd really like to upgrade its looks with some decent glass. I'm wondering what techniques some of you use to hand paint glass that looks nice (on objects that will only have a diffuse map, no spec / normals / reflection, etc). Some links to tutorials would be appreciated…
hey guys, I hope someone can help me. Is it possible to use Vertex Painting (Mesh Paint Mode) on a BSP in UDK? I want to create puddles on my floor and i tried it with Vertexpainting but i cant draw on a BSP. I know that i could convert the bsp and import it in 3ds Max and add some Vertices but im looking for a other…
Have you tried increasing the resolution of your paint layer? Make sure you are at a high level of subdivision when painting, Mudbox seems to paint more smoothly on a dense mesh.
The Pushing Points Spacer Toolkit was created to allow MODO users the ability to change the spacing of multiple contiguous meshes in a single Mesh Item. Example: Distributing the space between letters. Typographers call this activity kerning. Download the tools here:…
I'm really new to UDK so excuse me if this is fairly obvious. I was wondering if it was possible to vertex paint BSP geometry in UDK or are static meshes the only choice. BSP brushes seem to create relatively simple geometry but I thought maybe the engine could tessellate them to allow for vertex painting. Sorry for the…
the single best 3d painting program i've ever used is and has always been alias studiopaint 3d. + the painterly feeling is just superb (think sketchbook, maybe painter), still quite ahead of any photoshop "brush engine" + all the important paint tools are here - in addition to that you can use spline curves to either…
basically I need a Children curve that constraints to a point on the parent curve, which will follows the curve point/parameter as the parent curve moves and rotates. How do you guys go about doing this ? edit: maya 2011
I want to make every spline point in the blueprint be able to rotate on its axis. In this way, I will be able to blend the path better to the landscape. I want it to be able to rotate to the sides on the axis it's going forward on. I know that you have to array the points and then you can rotate them but I have no clue…
Been chided by bobo and poop both now for not having polycount as my homepage... I figured I'd try and start posting here a bit more often. It seems like an awesome community with lots of talent! this is a painting I just finished up. I worked on it 10 minutes each night before I went to sleep for the past two/three weeks.…
