*sigh* So I got a sharp hair up my ass last night and went on a quest to figure out how to get my Cintiq Companion to do GPU intensive stuff like doing work in Substance Painter or Marmoset Toolbag. First, I thought, hey I can just run a remote desktop to my workstation, problem solved. Nope. I can't get pen pressure to…
I finally finished my version of Mordin. It started as a zbrush practice to see how much I could accomplished using only Zbrush for modeling in 8 hours (that was 2010 or 2011, if I recall...), I chose Mordin because it was the only character I couldn't save when I played Mass Effect 2 and also because I loved the character…

"it doesn't help at investigating the initial issue you had", then we were understood there were now two distinct issues? This initial issue was never discussed after the introduction of the newer issue, 'stray…
It's because the original poster was asking about what subjects to study in college. It's true that a degree doesn't really matter in games. The guy with the better demo is going to get the job, whether he has a degree or not. However, academic CS instruction can be very helpful. Not required, but helpful. Your earlier…
Tutorials/courses are good for picking up techniques. I think it is good to try to do a lot of them and see similar things done from multiple different people. I think getting models from games and reverse engineering them is good to help keep you from focusing efforts in the wrong places. That can be important too.…
