thank you Kevin! thanks for taking the time to write about and upload all those images. really great stuff! It's awesome to see inside your head and your workflow. this makes me want to do some hardsurface modeling
Cool weapon! It will be awesome if could be modded on Fallout 4 hahaha Are you really making this all on zbrush? Man, I always find it hardsurface a pain to make on zbrush, if you could share a bit of your workflow would be great.
"highly Motivated self-taught 3D artist" should be reworded to "Environment/Prop/HardSurface Artist"| The former is not a position people are hiring for nor explicitly looking for. Make the search clearer for others. I'm liking it. Nice presentation. Strong pieces.
I did, but me asking the question, I could be wrong. So I decided to post it here incase anybody could prove me wrong. And I am talking about hardsurface, yes. For organic of course this wouldn't work.
hardsurfaces take a while to be done in any case. I suggest to start with sculpt to see a fast preview of the shape, than go back to to subd for make it clean ( Im not a big fan of polishing too much the sculpt model) cheers.

I used to model in CAD softwares (Rhino&fusion360) and I'm new to learn poly modeling . I 've noticed that there is a workflow that uses dynamesh the cad model to high poly model then bake it to the low poly model. But how do you guys make the low poly based on a high poly model?(especially hardsurface stuff like guns or…
Morning guys im not usually doing a lot of hardsurface stuff, so iv run in to this problem i cant seem to sort out. image of the problem, normalmap Its all modelled in 3dsmax. I've generated the normalmap with xNormal. Mesh is triangulated. iv tried what iv heard mentioned around the boards, no smoothing groups, 1…
Hello, guys. This is the first time that I have the courage to show my process and ask for critiques on a forum . I'm doing a 3D fanart of Torbjorn from Overwatch to learn more about the PBR pipeline inside Substance Painter, rendering using Marmoset and hardsurface modelling. I decided to show since the greybox to share…
