Hi all, So I recently been facing an impossible problem, in a project I am working on, one of the game mode includes zooming and rotating around a planet. This means the planet can both fill the whole screen (aka seeing 1/8 of the sphere), and also be fully within the screen (aka seeing 1/2 of the sphere). The problem is…
After creating my Polycount account (say that five times fast) years ago, I'm finally diving into texturing. I'm basically a n00b with Photoshop and texturing in general. I'm giving Metric Meditations' tutorial a go. Here is my first attempt at creating a tile floor texture. I'm happy and disappointed at the same time with…
I just finished working on Asset from Unreal That i wanted to use two base color textures ( one as Base and one as details), i found some half solutions so i improvised. Here is my way: This is aim I used Substance painter but photoshop or any other software that can fill background with white will do You add Pattern or…
Hi, I would like to know if there is a technique/tutorial how to create a cartoon texture with zbrush for non painters. I'm specially interesting on creating the texture on plane. I've tried to create a rock texture which is a very bad looking: Any tip/help will be welcome. Thanks
So I was able to blend 2 textures using an alpha mask, ramp and blend color utility. I wanted to ask, is it possible to add another texture with blend colors to my texture.
Highpass (good for removing highlights etc) and surface noise or surface blur. Really useful for removing noisy detail. Also the blending level trick (its on that cgtextures link) really useful for getting nice drip and rust stains or peeling paint etc. Something that really helps me in texturing is thinking in broad terms…
200 units means nothing for your texture memory. How many DIFFERENT units are there? Make sure all the different textures plus a reasonable number of environment textures could fit into texture memory because they could all be in view during one frame. If you have only three different units you can probably use any tex…
The lens elements and those alone should have an alpha map on a smaller texture. 512x512 is probably a little large but I don't know how big the rest of your textures are, even if the character's head is filling the frame at 1080p, the lenses of the glasses probably won't take up 512x512 pixels. The reason why you want a…
Want to project a texture to a model (multiple textures actually), but I'm not sure which software would work best. I know you can do it in max using cameras and render to texture, but that looks incredibly tedious to pull off without planting your fist into your monitor. ZBrush can do it, but I'm not sure how well that…
