jango polycounter lvl 7
Hi,
I would like to know if there is a technique/tutorial how to create a cartoon texture with zbrush for non painters.
I'm specially interesting on creating the texture on plane.

I've tried to create a rock texture which is a very bad looking:

Any tip/help will be welcome.

Thanks

To be honest you'll pretty much need to do some painting. I would suggest making a bunch of rocks as subtools and then dropping them onto the canvas to create a tiling rock face rather than using a flat plane and trying to sculpt seperate rocks on it.

My other suggestion would be to look at the 'seige of orgrimmar' tutorials as it shows the multiple mesh uses to create a flat texture and the types of maps made to compile it into that painted look. The more cartoon based the less colour variation you'd need but you'd still need to paint. Depending on the type of cartoon look you're going for you may need to draw 'ink' lines too
