Update: Final Piece! This character went through quite a vast change since I last posted because I decided to redesign him again. I need as much feedback as I can get on the final piece for my evaluation so please comment and also a big thank you to those who helped me previously with the stellar advice. :) [ame="…
Hi polycount! I already started working on my entry for the current Retrogasm contest, but figured it would be useful to make a thread to try and get some more feedback/crit! Current progress is at the clean blockout stage ready for proper sculpting/detailing. Bigger boobs/butt incoming, but general anatomy feedback would…
Wow, tell your girlfriend a big thanks, Bardler. That was a lot of helpful points!! I did my best to address all these points and improve upon them. The only thing I couldn't fix was the part where the rig looks broken--there's a weird problem I've found with the 3DSmax biped where once you rotate the main biped piece, the…
Depends on the data format. I think a .BIP file will overwrite your existing structure. But if you re-import the source motion format instead, like BVH or CSM, then you can fit it to your own structure. Takes some finesse to import raw data, been awhile since I had to do it. You use biped's FIG format to control how the…
I'm still learning things here and there and I'm used to doing things big. I did the color map in sketchbook, and I'm not used to texturing in a 2D program, soon I will throw away the textures and restart in Mudbox. Other than that his design doesn't have a traditional head and face. His head is the top of of a spray paint…
Make sure your controller is snapped to your null group and then freeze transforms and delete the controllers history. More than likely your group is parented to something and then also constrained to something else. you might have also constrained the controller, which they should be free of constrains in most cases. It's…
Love it. I'm slowly starting work on a new piece (my commute makes it hard) and I really want to have both UDK and CryEngine shots of it. Pieces like this really motivate me to dig into CryEngine and kick out some beautiful works. If I had to crit something though, I'm not a big fan of your glass material. Can't say if it…
Been working on this for the last few weeks. Figured I would put together a thread of progress I also put together a small tutorial for some folks who might be interested in a bit of my process. I plan to put together a few video tutorials with audio to explain other parts of the process that might get confusing by just…
Hi, we are a small indie team and we are looking for a couple more members. Particulary we are interested in a 3d animator and a modeller with a knack for hand painted textures. Engine: Unity3d. Platforms: android, iOS, win8. Genre: top down action RPG. Setting, visual style: mostly fantasy, close to League of Legends and…
Ah, you have hidden your reply well :sunglasses: Fog cards I find they can help to elevate vistas, but to my knowledge shouldn't be layered too much due to the increased cost of the pixel on screen (Overdraw). Sample Projects I would follow the path Eric suggested. I haven't tried this one, but going by its description it…
