Creating a quality cloth simulation and baking to bones
I'm trying to simulate some nice clean cloth behaviour on a cloak with the cloth modifier of 3ds max 2012. The best I can do involves using the burlap preset, which allows me to get a clean animation with bones but is much too stiff. Actually, he probably purchased the processor and motherboard together in a combo deal. And one or the other was probably getting cleared out at the store he got it from. @Ark i assume your talking about split polygon tool. if you go into the options and you uncheck 'constrain to edge' then you can cut the interior of a polygon and make random cuts anywhere you like. when you click inside a polygon and drag to the edge the vertex will be welded to the edge or vertex. you can never assume… -

Also, the tiny thumbnails on the 3rd layer are far too small. On modern displays, I'd set 256 as the MINIMUM size for a thumbnail. The tesselation on the clock seems exceptionally odd. I can't tell why you have vertical edges running across the face. Making the hands out of polygons also seems an odd choice - I suppose… -

What tools have you tried? If you split a face into 3rds that often, you could use the insert edge loop tool, and just have it set to multiple edges, and edge loops to 2. Or you could use the split polygon tool, where you constrain to edges and have snap magnets set at 2, and have to tolerance pretty high. I mean these 2…
