Now you've gone and done it! Now you have to model a turtle too! Freaking cool model. Great textures, but I don't think that your text will very sharp with just two 1024 textures. Can you show the underside of the car?
For bigger textures I don't think it's as serious. Say, scaling down 2048 to 1024. Your primary concern would be anything with only 1 pixel width in the high resolution image, those will get really lost when you down res.
Reference for the desk below. http://www.projectphidev.com/modules/Forums/files/jason_computer_desk_inspiration.jpg Desk sink - untextured Bed Pallets I know that 504*6=3024, but I missed some verts when I went through optimizing Heh Lamp I got bored and remapped this lamp for variety. What do you think?
hi all, I've just discovered this great forum 2 days ago and I find it very interesting in the low poly modelisation. so that's some of my last works from my Portfolio: tris : 258 tex: 64*64 tris : 224 tex: 64*64 tris : 176 tex: 64*64 cheers.

This is 2 days of work, and I think I am going to start the cage next. I am hoping to use only a 1024 sheet for the whole thing. Ref Sheet Front view Back view Please let me know how this looks so far, and I will update with the cage soon...:thumbup:
I started a rifle for a FPS demo scene I'm working on in conjunction with a USMC character. So far these are some screens of the wires, occlusion render and a 0.5% start on the texturing of the model. Right now the model runs in at 6,00 tris and am working on a 2048 texture...but will use compression tool to get it to 1024…
You probably want about 2x px of padding for every step up from 256x, so 512s with 4px, 1024s with 8 px, 2048s with 16x. Those are minimums, too. More padding literally never hurts, there is no reason not to crank that up high.
Wait a min, perhaps slightly off-topic but I thought hex only used 6 digits? As in: #FF9900 being 255-153-00 So how exactly would it work if you got nine digits? #0FFF006C1 = 025-125-?? I'm confused :[
I guess I was off, it was only 26 textures. The 26 one is still 1024s though, I've seen them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJE5g18KLsQ#t=0m34s Heads up to mute the audio. Skip to 2 min for a quick shot of it in VBS2.
