This is a little project for a little contest at Facepunch Studios. I wanted to use this as an exercise in learning how to generate highpoly normal maps for a low poly model. Here's what I've got so far... Uv's: But I hit a bit of a snag when it comes to the normal map... I'm using Maya and Mudbox...anybody know what's…
I have a dangling lamp. It's skinned and rigged with bones. I imported it as a skeletal mesh into UDK. I created a physics asset it for it and also a physical material. I want the object to sway back and forth subtlety. I cant seem to be able to do it though. This has been driving me crazy. :poly127:
Hi everyone, I have a low poly tree for game(pine tree) and the rig is done with a bone for each foliage card representing a branch, so i was wondering about what would be the best way to animate it to give it a natural light wind to make it sway gently?
My new gig is letting me order the Intuos of my choosing. Since I normally use a 6x8 and have dual monitors, I was wondering if anyone has or has used the 6x11's? http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/6x11.cfm Seems like a logical choice. Anyone know of any snags with it if any?
Hey guys, Anyone know how to disable the new camera sway effect in UDK? The one I'm talking about is the "breathing" effect when you're standing still (dont care about the head bob when you're moving/walking). I'm getting tired of having to time my screenshots ! :)
it's worth keeping in mind that mirroring on characters, although it fantastically juices more from a texture, too much will impede texture variants. for characters that utilize a component system that swap out chunks of geo, like in Dota 2, it makes sense to atlas out regions like this especially considering its goal of…
Just what has been said, but in a step by step tutorial. http://www.squirrelyjones.com/public/model.pdf As Mark said use TexTools UV/3D Swap for the "flatening" mentioned in the tutorail. (I'm affraid of sculpting, I love this tutorail :O) Edit: The rest of the "Pandicarus" tutorial series is in the wiki ;)
Yeah, something like that adds a bit of colour and also suggests you have some life/work experience which is definitely a plus. People skills transfer across all types of career and they are a valuable commodity - especially in an industry that's largely populated by people who sway towards introversion.
No problem, depending on how much you dislike clutter, you may want to swap out that PSU for a semi-modular/modular one so you don't have a ton of un-unused cables in the case. Something like this.. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120pg0650gr
Not to be weird EQ but it would be a pleasure if you wanted to come out and shoot with my friends and I. Last time we went out we went shooting with the Iowa City swat. That and i could pick your brain on 3d art and stuff haha. but hey open invitation !
