With a small and dedicated team, we are currently working on a first-person tactical co-op game using Unreal Engine 5. The game features a realistic, military-focused setting with a strong emphasis on simulation and tactical gameplay. We are searching for an ambitious generalist with a high focus on art and tech-art…
The reason I mentioned that quote was to illustrate the differences between how Ubisoft approached the situation and how EA approached a similar situation. Ubisofts creative director immediately highlights bad-faith people and that there is no possibility of real dialog with them. He doesn't list these bad faith people…
Say you have a cylinder in 3ds max that you export to udk, now the obviously the cylinder will have a seam on one of it's divisions (uv layout) which will translate into a seam in udk when using that as a light map. Are there any tricks to get rid of that seam instead of just trying to hide it with another object? Thanks!
Hello! I've mostly done lighting for mobile in Unity, and even then it wasn't anything complex. I used ambient lights, light maps, or unlit baked in diffuse. Never made anything for console or used Unity for something with complex lighting. I normally just make props, so stepping in to the world of advanced environment…
My biggest problem to date on showing off a mesh has been I have no clue how to properly render it, so that the Normal Map and Specular Maps show up well. I use 3DS Max r7. Is there a simple way to render the model so that it shows off how it would look in-game? Or a freeware model viewer that is relatively easy to export…
I'm looking to replace my desk chair that I bought for 4 pints off a friend a year back. Was wondering what the community had to say in regards to their favorite desk chair for modeling all day. Do you have just a general chair or does it have neck support? I was hoping to not spend more than $200 or so which makes things…

+1 There is no reason why you cant do both if you put the time and effort into it. hell being flexible is the best way of keeping sane (or insane depending on how you look at it) in this industry. just make sure that you are good enough at one of them for a job, and get better at the other while you make money doing the…
Thanks guys for feedback I really appreciate that. I did some tweaks like adding handmade rust and rusty spots, some dust and cleared most annoying dDo mistakes. What else to say I look forward for your response and here you go new pack:
We're using unity at work, no one really knows what they're doing in unity atm. i thought it was a really bare bones game engine until today i discovered it has terrain painting, GI, light probes? i didn't know any of this existed in unity. i know someone here must know of a great series of videos going through all of…
