1. BSP shadows are lightmap resolution(F5), as you mentioned. Mesh shadows are also lightmaps, you need to create a second lightmap UV layout and enable it in the mesh itself. TRy googling static mech lightmaps for a detailed explanation. In your example images #2 is being lit by dynamic lighting, which is pretty expensive… -

Hi, I have never used zbrush before, and need to know if it can meet this requirement. Can it render transparent, overlapping texture cutout cards/planes to a texture? Add light problem.
Win 8.1 Loading the diving helmet scene works perfectly so my system and card are ok, so I am missing something basic. Adding a light via the top menu makes my scene white. The light is an omni but changing the brightness only changes the scene from flat white to flat black. Nothing else is visible. Also the manual says… -

I don't think I have enough info to know exactly what is wrong. I'm not exactly sure what the end result should look like so that makes things a little more difficult. That looks like a "Photometric Free Light" to me, which is different than a "standard" omni light. You might want to change the light to a standard light…
