There is some good information in there but there are also a lot of details not applicable to doing 3d work for games. Getting hired to do freelance work on games should absolutely not involve any "testing artwork." You get hired because they like your work, this isn't a job application.
The five days for feedback thing is good. Even more important is having the design/concept nailed down before starting and having something in the contract that says "No design revisions."
