I know this is your own design, but the ear and the nose seem too big and cartoony at the moment. The tube shape on the bottom of the ear stands out. I was referencing this for comparison: (I also preferred their mouth treatment, but you can do your thing.) Like the armor shape a lot.

just now maya 2016 ext 2 now can convert nurbs to tubes, without paint effect... and it's in bonus tool... yeah that super basic tool are in "bonus" section. i think maya modelling department crew are so poorly get attention from adsk. sad...
Tectonic: Thanks for picking that up, I totally agree . Those tubes you highlighted could be much simplier. I couldn't decide whether to left the holes in upper beams modeled or cut them with alpha and normal map. I should have tried to let the texture do it.
