by what i understand from tutorials and the manual the way that you would make a collision for something like a tunnel would be to use boxes or rectangles around it. But what if i have something like this hydraulic cylider that has many concave pieces? there is no other way, only by breaking it into a lot of convex pieces?

Hello, I am using mentalray to render. when i render unsmoothed, my render works but when i apply an approximation editor to my geometry, it dissapears? why is this and how can i fix it? i changed the material to a basic lambert and it still does not show up?
Hello, I am designing a scenography and i am positioning the seats. but the seat is high poly, so copying it 200 times would result 5 milion polys. Is there any trick to copy it without adding the POLY COUNT ?
So let's say I want to catch a tree on fire and I want that tree to burn black after the fire moves up the tree like in real life. I figure I can accomplish this with matinee and kismet, but was wondering if there was a more efficient way to go about catching a tree or something like that on fire. Thanks for any advice :)
