So, the 3D Coat forums are bad for me so I'm posting this here. When I import a mesh in to 3D Coat the UV's vanish. They show up in Mudbox and Maya. Is there a special way to bring UV's across or does 3D Coat not support importing UV's? I chose the 'Repair Scanned Mesh' option and a few others but no luck. I just need to…
I would suggest using eyes with an iris texture to help get a feel for the size of the eye, because right now they are really big. Books are cool, but too me the best references are in 3d, I would recommend grabbing some 3d scans and try to replicate them and try to understand what all the volumes are while doing so. The…
@Gannon Thanks so much! I'm enjoying 3d, but definitely out of my comfort zone. I've been testing 3d scan data from sculpey, then bringing into zbrush. Still feels a bit rough, especially on the edge flow. Well, whatever. Here it is: Here's a brief clip of the…
Y'know, it occurred to me that you could make one base head to spec, unwrapped and all, then shrink wrap that to each head that you get from the 3d scans (whether via Kinect or otherwise), and bake the diffuse down from the scan as well (and then of course do some cleanup on the texture). That way you're not worrying about…
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good way to square up a 3d scan in 3DS Max I have so that I can find the center line. The scan data comes in with a random pivot point and I am doing my best to rotate and move it so that my center line is along the 0,0 axis but its always a little off with every adjustment I make. I…
I've tried my hand at 3d scanning (photogrammetry) recently. I still have some ways to go, but i ran into a bit of a roadblock after experimenting a bit with the whole process. To clarify things i don't have any problems with decimating, unwrapping and baking because that workflow is all to familiar to people who work with…
