I’m using a bit of parallax on some terrain in my game in UE4. I also have a bunch of modular building pieces that have brick/plaster. The brick/plaster feels pretty flat and I’d like to get the separation to have more depth when the edges of the plaster should dip down. Is adding POM on all of these modular building…
The missing plaster over the bricks seems pixilated, following the shape of the bricks too closely. When plaster flakes off, it tends to occur along natural faults, and rough edges are smoothed over time. Also, plaster over bricks is often quite thick.
Not sure the plaster would break in such a circular shape tbh; even if the hole is circular, I think the plaster would snap off at much bigger and sharper angles. For example;
Looks fantastic so far. I think the plaster looks a little too clean where it's supposed to be broken. Also, do you have the same specular on both the plaster and the brick? Both seem to shine the light the same way, but the brick would not be as reflective as something like plaster which usually has a coating.
Hey Scott, is it just texture blending where wood showing up behind the plaster? or did you made plaster edges with geometry and another geo behind it for wood? Thanks
