Thanx for the reply oxxnary but i posted this question up on the UDK forums too and receieved a long but helpful reply that solved my problem. Heres the post if anyone in the future is interested. Some people in my class made this. The only thing I have to add is that you need to Make a " Screenshots " folder in the UT…
My thoughts: 1. win XP 32 is almost dead(near complete EoL). On the other hand it cannot support more than 3,5Gb of RAM(with dirty tricks). x64 is superior in all the aspects. Vista also offers DX10 and video memory virtualization(which is VERY important when dealing with big meshes... and xp64 cannot do this). Some shops…
Thanks for feedback everyone, we're happy you like it! b1ll hey Ben, thanks for contributing to our project! attattattack again to avoid confusion, must state that is not my personal artwork (though there I did some art that isn't shown here) my role in this is mostly QA and art direction, in order to fit multiple artists…
MIG 29 Fulcrum I like it. :) Veresk SR-2m The metal has gone through some wear and tear for sure, but the polymer looks like it just came from the injection mold. The edges are still very crisp, its very clean, all the bump is still relatively uniform, no signs of wear at all. I would expect to see smooth(er) spots on the…
I believe it was Stimpack who originally posted this in the tread about a lantern being too green... anyway i copied out this system, as it hauls. Ive only used it once but i think this is what Vig is saying anyway; just thought I would try and keep passing this on. I am copy pasting this from someone else, this is not me;…
It sounds like your normals are locked. Fixing this usually means resetting which edges are hard/soft, but it's probably the only thing you can do. Here's what I'd do (and this will preserve your skin weights & rig): 1. Duplicate the model & hide the original. 2. Select your new mesh. 3. Unlock the normals. Edit Polygons…
http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?image=paintover3zs.jpg ok this may not really be a paint over.. as much as some scribbled guide lines and comparison pics, on the left is your model. on the right is the ref you posted, middle is your model with the ref overlayed over it heres what i'm atempting to show with the image 1.…
Vig and Paul make some excellent points. With your background as a web designer, I see this as a technical advantage, which could be a good niche focus as you try to get a job in games. If you are good at HTML, it isn't a huge leap to learn most scripting languages. A good script writer/more technically inclined artist can…
Get rid of the front page. And if you insist on HAVING that god-awful front page, get something with some decent texture / pixel density on it. What you have right now is crap. Your resume - NO to a .jpg. Offer a Word format at the very LEAST. I've said this before, and you still don't wanna change it, and now more people…
Hey there. We have used both Torque and Blitz3d at work. We use it for educational purposes,so for that use theres no need to go into great detail much of the time, for example with the shader side of the engines,no guns here etc etc ,also all programming isn't done at our studio so I have no idea how easy they are to work…
