I disabled and enabled static lighting in project settings before but never had problems. However today when i did the same my whole scene is so bright. No matter what i adjust it wont change back to normal lighting. I tried baking all lights and it still doesnt work, tried dynamic lighting and nope still doesnt work.…
Looks good to me! I really like the stuff over on the left, and that door is nice too. I seem to recognise this scene, is it based off someone else's concept art, or a screenshot from a game? The main thing I'd change right now is the lighting - you have a really bright light in the background on the right, illuminating…
Hi! Please need help with this workflow? how do i sculpt Fur and it is the right choise if the final production ask for the model to be animated, lip sinc and stuff... my common sence tell me that sculpting it will be a waist of time becouse when it will star talking or extremely moving, all the displacemente data will…
Yea the way UDK is right now is designed to have minimal real time lights. You want to avoid them like the plague... I'm not saying you shouldn't use them...but you really only want 1 dynamic light (or less) hitting any given mesh.
Hey, working in Maya 8.0, don't know what happened but for some reason my right click doesn't bring up the marking menus it should, but acts like middle clicking does (moves/scale/rotate/etc... along last used axis.) I've tried deleting my prefs folder and resetting my prefs, but it hasn't worked. It makes it very hard to…
I've used this for years. It's just great, especially when working well past midnight (on non-art stuff). I keep the icon as always visible on the sys tray and just right right click + disable for an hour if I'm doing some art-work past 6 or so, and just close out of it if I'm working for longer. Also good for watching…
Hello, Polycounters!!!! I have been slowly building a portfolio(environment artist) and I just want to check where I am at right now. I feel like I need a complete scene and replace my old one(scifi scene) that is currently presented in my folio. Take a look and let me know what you like or dislike and what I need to do to…
Thanks for the responses! The lighting was sort of a mood "paint-over"; I just placed some dynamic lights in the scene and screen grabbed. I hope to incorporate much more detail once I settle on the tone I like. I think this one is working okay but as stated, I'd like to supplement some additional lights (candles,…
When you're dragging the light's dot to aim it on the lightcap sphere, drag it off the sphere into one of the corners (or at least place it right along the edge of the sphere if you want a bit more direction to it). If you're not seeing the result clearly on the model then make sure you're using a basic material (not a…
I don't have much experience in vray or lighting, but to take a stab at it: Maybe try using a large area light instead of a sun. It might give you that softer lighting that you're looking for. I think commercial photography rarely use raw, direct sunlight; it's almost always modified with diffusers/scrims, or just staged…
