Hi folks, A programmer and I have been working on our Unity game, Urban Mage, for awhile and now are looking for artist to help with the production. We have spent a year designing and prototyping and now its time to bust it out. In short the concept for the game is that it's a fighting game that has a RPG style. The story…
You've made some great improvements but I think you can make a few more. Keep in mind that dirt, damage, scratches and grime can easily overpower things and come off as just noisy. I like to equate damage to a voice in the crowd, if everyone is yelling the message just isn't getting out, if its only one person yelling then…
I agree with Muzz that the cropping makes it look less like a portrait and more like a cutout of a larger image. I think you could afford to extend the canvas up top and to the right to get the entire head in the picture, and having him (it is a him, yes?) look directly at the viewer may also make it seem more appropriate…
Looks much better dude. Although I'd say the roots you've shown in the top down image were a bit too green if you know what I'm saying. Would be cool if they were to appear more wood like, and covered in bark with less moss. Also, maybe try to monkey with the rays of light you see coming down from that hole in the ceiling.…
My recommendation is to step back and do some grayscale paintings of smaller scale. Instead of doing a super bloodthirsty hell beast with wicked awesome armor, do a grayscale portrait. It will help you learn to use your values to portray your shapes. Working in grayscale will also help to not have so much distracting you,…
Thanks everyone. ZombieWells - Thanks for the suggestion. I will do that. Tobbo - I rendered a bunch of layers out of Zbrush and pieced it together in Photoshop. It was a new approach for me and I learned alot. Here is a simply article I used to help me out.…
Howdy. So I came back from work and knew I had to work on DSS, but my head was just killing me, so I popped up my human anatomy for artist and decided to do something else. It's been quite some time since i've wanted to try and put up together a skeleton by myself, I want...need to know of what and how the body is built.…
@rockguy Firstly, thank you for your input I had my foliage set up wrong you were right and now things are looking better. I also switched to Dominant Directional that did the trick after much frustration. Regarding your image I think it looks very good but I feel your shadows are far too dark it's making your grass look…
When it comes to things like these, you can't be afraid to make mistakes. From what I can tell, Ace is right. But to expand upon that, don't depend on a tutorial to tell you everything. Do you think John Lasseter and other Pixar guys had tutorials to help them build the awesome things they have today? Sure they now have a…
Nice looking work over all. I like how you have real time renders. a few things i would do though. -You just say "Game Art" I'd say make that more defined such as environments, characters, ect. -Always try to have a down loadable version of your resume., So HR can download it and put it in there files. As for notes on your…
