This looks really nice! One thing I noticed is your tires don't seem to bulge at the bottom where they press against the road or floor. Kind of makes the car look like it's floating. Also, the rims seem to be all perfectly aligned, but some could be rotated a bit for realism?
Good news... It's possible to launch painter and run a texture export from a python script that pokes it through a websocket and then process output using the automation toolkit - I've done it. Bad news. It's a little bit hacky. I don't have the documentation to hand but if you contact allegorithmic directly (or do some…
Hello, I am confronted with the following situation: I have a model that i need to export for AR in two formats, .glb and .usdz. The model is built in 3ds Max and has simple animation attached to it(a simple Mixamo rig with a few other bones attached by me in max to complete the animation). After browsing the whole of the…

I frequently use XREF for my models to keep my 3DSMax files small and manageable when importing decimated ZBrush meshes. I use proxies to make viewport performance better. But XREF has a major disadvantage, it loads very slow. When I load a 3DSMax file with 20 XREF files (For each object and each proxy a different file) it…
If I make a parent constraint in FileA, and then I reference FileA into another scene, sometimes that parent constraints work and sometimes they don't. It seems random. I can have the actual FileA open and confirm that the parent constraint does work as expected. And in the other file where FileA is being referenced,…
Heres something I'm working on it's a HP and i am currently adding wires to it. however I'm not sure about normal mapping wires. in the top left of the picture you can see a fairly thick wire/pipe that will be normal mapped. but i then have some smaller wires. Here you can see one in blue. I'm not sure if i want it like it…
Well, I wasn't sure about posting a late Art Challenge post (or where to post it if it was late), but since @LeonDreiling is doing it, I guess I will too. I started on this with only three or four days left of the 100th Art Challenge, and thought I'd just churn out a quick low or mid-poly prop. Some better planning at the…
That's a bummer, it's never easy being laid off. This is basically "spec work", kind of like an unstructured art test. Which is the least beneficial to you, since it has no defined guidelines, they can make their decision on a whim. Sometimes a manager with little hire/fire experience will use this as a crutch to try to…
