But you already mentioned it: it's not really useful if own has to guide the AI in multiple iterations and with some own expertise so that one might just do it oneself ? Especially when i hear also in other places that the details are not consistent in multiple generated "results" or a weak later. If an artist did this…
Hello Polycount, My first UT map! Decided to challenge myself and create a playable map with my own level design and art. huge fan of UT, Quake, and FPS in general and just get knowledge in the new field for me would be a great plus for sure. Let's start! First of all, I want to say HUGE THANKS to all Level Designers who…
I don't get why everyone's in such a rush to consume everything these days? Sure, those identikit tutorials for the latest iteration of whatever FPS you just got are both redundant and irritating but it's literally only two or three measly minutes out of your entire play experience with that game? It's far more annoying to…

In my opinion, it’s best to learn multiple apps, as many employers will dictate which software they need all assets to be processed through for integration into their systems. Often in my experience the main app is Maya or Max, since these are generally easier to develop a consistent sustainable pipeline for. Blender is…
Hello fellow polycounters. Recently i've been keeping myself busy while working on the Aura Tactics project i jumped on a few weeks ago by rigging and animating some of the models from Polycount's SDK sticky. Some of you may remember seeing a few of these videos in the WAYWO thread, or on my phone at the GDC PolyCount…
Hi, it's been a while since the last update on this project. I've been mostly learning blueprints and creating systems like crafting, stamina, items and so on as well as exploring gameplay mechanics. This is without a doubt the most challenging, fun and entertaining project I have ever embaked on. So after a while of…
Hey everyone. New to 3D modelling but need it since 3D printing is the best option for my next project. So I have two problems. The first one is I want to make that red rectangle and pink circle hollow (a hole) and I also want to center everything in the middle of the main circle (largest one). I have attached the file so…
depends Traditionally people will use a hybrid solution where their vertex color mask is modulated with a tiling noise texture - often world space - to allow for variation based on position and if you can afford it, uniquely modified vertex color. That usually holds up fine under lodding - and if not, you just fix the lods…
Pretty cool — I haven't tried the autosave iteration feature yet but I think manually saving iterations makes a lot more sense. You can also do iterations automatically if you're saving to dropbox but that might not always be convenient.
